Insight: Taking inspiration from climbing equipment, I was able to design a lightweight, low cost, low part count solution by combining the spring with the gate.
Insight: Performing life testing and abuse testing combined with FEA enabled the correct material to be specified for the core and material use optimisation.
Challenge: Discover a novel effective solution in an already saturated area.
Solution: An elegant and economical solution that offered competitive advantage. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
